In regard to your other enquiry, I was originally made a Knight Grand Cross of Justice in a branch of Knights of Malta Sovereign Order of the Hospitallers of Saint John of Jerusalem, (OSJ) operating mostly in the United States, Italy, Japan, Australia, South America and Belgium. The Grand Master by then, (1976) was Prince Michael Khimchiachivili Von Brancovani, a gentleman of Rumenian extract with close ties to Queen Juliana and Prince Bernard of Belgium.
The historical background of that order, I was informed by the then Grand Master, went back to King Peter of Yukoslavia. The rest of the history is basically that of the Knights of Malta after 1798.
Between 1978 and 1993 a man by the name Prince Arnaldo Petruci di Siena branched off from von Brancovani's group and established a branch under the same name. He had a good following until 1993 when he became totally unable to sustain leadership. In July of 1993 in a Royal Decree number 001-93 the Prince passed all his duties of Grandmastership to me. In February 1994, the European Priories under the leadership of Prince Petruci met in Florence and unanimously elected me to be their new Sovereign Grand Master. Both Prince Von Brancovani and Prince Petruci have long left the sciene.
The Order continues to function with me as Sovereign Grand Master. There has been a slight change in the name after some necessary reforms were demanded and made. The current name is: Knights of Malta Sovereign Order of Reformed Hospitallers of Saint John of Jerusalem. The changes were necessary in order to keep in line with the US Federal government requirements for not-for-profit organizations.
