The Church was built in Central Hall style in 1932 and comprises the main Church complete with a gallery, 5 other halls and numerous ancillary rooms. For Sunday Worship the Church is usually seated for 100 but can accommodate up to 500 (including 200 in the gallery). Alternatively it is used for musical concerts and professional examinations.
The Church has worked with the community for the past 75 years. The original remit from the benefactor (Herbert Collins) was
"I have built the houses now build a place for the people to go". With the aid of J.Arthur Rank the buildings were constructed complete at that time with full cinema facilities.
The Church is now a grade II listed building.
